Lesotho Home Affairs Minister has appealed to South Africa to delay penalties for overstaying until all eligible Lesotho Special Permit holders are processed at the end of June. This as the main Maseru border post between Lesotho and South Africa says it is ready to handle the thousands of travellers expected to cross during the Easter holidays. Some of the 4000 Lesotho nationals - deported during the holidays for staying and working in South Africa illegally - have started coming back into the country - without proper documentation. Many are mineworkers and domestic workers. They say they can't find work in Lesotho. Tourism is booming again in Semonkong Lesotho as the area around the famous Maletsunyane Falls is shrouded in mist following the recent rains. The Falls went completely dry at the height of the drought, threatening both people and water life in the process. But the rains came just in time to attract visitors for the holidays.
